St. Michael Parish is committed to ensuring the safety of our children. We ask that ALL volunteers who serve our parish kindly complete the following prior to starting their work with each ministry. 

• All volunteers (18+) must complete a CORI background screening prior to the first assignment with your ministry and annually after that. Please stop by the Parish Office to obtain your CORI form, or download your form from the link at the bottom of this page. Please complete the form on BOTH SIDES, sign and date it, and return it ASAP to the Parish Office for Rose Doherty or Beth Santaella. 

• All volunteers must read and agree to comply with both the “Volunteer Code of Conduct” and the “Child Protection Policy” for the Archdiocese of Boston, both of which can be found at https://commitment.bostoncatholic.org/protecting-children-word-of-welcome or via the links below. For printed copies, please visit the Parish Office.

• All volunteers working directly with children/youth must complete “Protecting God’s Children” (PGC) training within the first 30 days of ministry. If you have already taken this workshop at another parish, please furnish us with your Certificate of Completion. We will record the date and keep your certificate on file.

• ALL other volunteers – including lectors, Eucharistic ministers, ushers, greeters, choir members, St. Vincent de Paul and Arimathea Society members – must complete “Protecting God’s Children” training within the first 60 days of ministry. If you have already taken this workshop at another parish, please furnish us with your Certificate of Completion.

To register for PGC training: please visit www.VIRTUSonline.org, click on “First-Time Registrant.” Click on “Begin the Registration Process,” then select “Boston, MA (Archdiocese)”, create your username/password, fill in the required information, then choose a date/location from the listing provided. Please stop by the Religious Ed office and see Mary White if you need assistance, or call the Office of Child Advocacy at 617-746-5994; they are also happy to help!
